This paper is an extension and revision of a previous paper by Rosa and Cohen. It is now by far the most complete and thorough study of the subject that has yet been published. The authors have taken great pains to bring it thoroughly up to date, and have made a critical study of nearly all the recent papers on the subject. The comparisons of the results obtained by various authors and the invcstigations of the convergence of the various series that have been proposed have cleared up the whole subject admirably.
